This policy covers the Margin website. It does not describe data processing inside the desktop application or by the AI provider you connect to it.
Your choice
With your permission, this website uses Yandex Metrica to understand visits, interest in examples and clicks on installer links. Analytics does not load before you allow it. You can decline and still use the website and download the installer.
Use Privacy settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Withdrawing permission stops analytics on this website and reloads the current page. It does not automatically erase reports already collected.
What analytics collects
- Page visits, language, traffic source and campaign labels.
- Whether key sections were visible, manual actions in the scripted examples and clicks on download links, including which button was used.
- Technical information processed by Yandex Metrica, including IP address, browser and device information and browser identifiers stored in cookies or local storage.
Session Replay and click maps are disabled in our integration. We do not send names, email addresses, API keys, interview answers or screenshots as analytics event parameters. A download click does not confirm that installation or even the download completed.
Our pageview event removes URL fragments and unapproved query parameters. Campaign labels must not contain personal information. The third-party analytics library also processes technical data under its own documentation.
Browser storage and retention
The website stores your analytics choice in local storage under margin-analytics-consent for 180 days. This stores the choice, policy version and expiry time; it does not contain a visitor ID. Clearing browser storage removes the choice.
If local storage cannot be updated, a refusal may be saved in session storage for the current tab. If neither can save your refusal, analytics stops on the current page and the website asks you to clear site data before navigating.
If analytics is allowed, Yandex Metrica may use cookies such as _ym_uid and _ym_d and its own local storage entries. Individual cookie lifetimes vary; some last up to one year. See the current list and lifetimes in Yandex documentation.
Browser cookie lifetimes do not define retention of server-side reports. Report retention and deletion depend on the service and account settings; contact the owner about data already collected. Cookies belonging to Yandex domains can also be managed in your browser.
Services involved
Yandex Metrica receives analytics data after consent. Its role and processing terms are described in the Yandex Metrica terms and Yandex privacy policy.
Google Search Console and Yandex Webmaster provide search and indexing reports. This website does not install their visitor-tracking scripts. Ownership verification tags identify the website to those services.
The website and installer are hosted on a VPS. Download logs record the time, request method, path without query parameters, response status, bytes sent and processing time. These download logs do not record IP addresses, cookies or user-agent strings. Server error logs may contain IP addresses for troubleshooting and security. Logs rotate daily, with up to 14 previous non-empty log files retained.

Contact the owner listed above about access, correction, deletion or other applicable data rights. You can withdraw optional analytics permission at any time using Privacy settings. Downloading does not require analytics permission.
